Navy Seal "Leap Frogs" visit IRCC

photos by: Pish Pishdad

Three members of the US Navy Seals Leap Frogs (Parachute Team) had a nice visit at IRCC as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Pish Pishdad and their son, Amir Jr., a retired Navy Seal Lieutenant Commander. The Pishdads graciously prepared a breakfast fit for a king and took the Seals on tour of the grounds, where they met several residents and posed for photos. Captain USN, Larry Fay and Captain USN, Richard Evans, took them out for a round of golf. The Seals finished off the day having dinner with the Pishdads and other IRCC residents at the At Ease Club.

IRCC Artists-in-Residence

story by: Susan Stout

Our artists-in-residence continue to receive outside recognition. Resident artist Witha Lacuesta had two paintings accepted into the annual juried show at the Backus Museum in Ft. Pierce (through Dec 3). Resident artist Susan Starbird Stout had two paintings accepted into the “Water” show which is on display at the Hennegar Center in Melbourne through December and then moves to Watersong Senior Living Community.

Resident artist Sandy Garfield's paintings were selected by her Temple to be reproduced on greeting cards which will be sold for fundraising.

New art is on display in Colony Hall and Admin building by Artists-in-Residence. The theme for Colony Hall display this time is painting on a black background.

Art classes in the IRCC Art Studio Building are ongoing, Artist Pearl Ollie on Wednesdays  2:00 to 4:00- oil, acrylic and watercolor. Artist Lisa Mistuik on Tuesdays 1pm-3pm oil and acrylic. A large collection of artist magazines has recently been added to our art library in the Studio. Take a look and be inspired.
